NOTES: Syl Apps III was acquired by the Trenton Titans on 11/8/01 from the Macon Whoopee (who acquired him from the Jackson Bandits earlier in the day) for future considerations. His grandfather, Syl Apps Sr., was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame after a spectacular career with the Toronto Maple Leafs. His father, Syl Apps Jr., enjoyed a 10-year NHL career playing for the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Los Angeles Kings. Syl Apps III was signed as a free agent by the Toronto Maple Leafs on 7/22/99. He was loaned to the AHL's Norfolk Admirals from 11/11/01 to 11/14/01. Apps served as team captain of the Titans briefly during the 2001/2002 season while Cail MacLean was on a callup to the AHL. He was loaned to the AHL's Springfield Falcons from 3/21/02 to 3/30/02. On 8/22/02, Apps re-signed with the Titans for the 2002/2003 season. Apps was selected as the PHPA Player of the Year for the 2002/2003 season. He retired after the season to attend Oxford University in England.
