It is with great sadness that I officially send The Unofficial Web Site of the Trenton Titans into retirement after over 7 years on the internet. I'm at least happy to be doing so with the Kelly Cup displayed on the home page as the pinnacle of 6 seasons of great Trenton Titans hockey! I want to extend heartfelt thanks once again to all of the great people who helped make this site possible over the years! First and foremost, my wife Jo Ann for endulging my time-consuming hobby. Special thanks for the hundreds of great Titans photos provided by Peter Bronsteen over the years, not to take away from the dozens of fine photos contributed by others as well. The site also couldn't have survived without the great support from the Trenton Titans organization, the Trenton Titans Booster Club, and many others. While I could go on for pages thanking all of the great Titans fans who I've met or corresponded to over the years who have also contributed volumes to the site, I must single out Pam Bloom as being an essential supporter from the early days. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Why? The answer is simple, just not enough hours in the day or days in the week to maintain this site without making major sacrifices in other important areas of my life. As many of you know, the past couple of seasons have been a real struggle for me to keep the site a shadow of its former self while juggling my other responsibilities. While a Kelly Cup Championship made the time spent so much sweeter, it unfortunately failed to increase the number of hours in a day. I will leave the site up as it currently stands indefinitely for any of you who may want to use it as a historical reference. I may even get a spare moment to add an additional page or two or update a few to acknowledge future seasons, but for most intents and purposes, the UWSTT is now retired.
Last but most certainly not least, I must thank the many great players who wore the Trenton Titans jersey through the years! Your hard work was the inspiration for this site and made every minute spent worth it. Especially Jed Whitchurch for reaching out to the fans (and to this webmaster even before skating his first shift as a Titan) and for adding great character to the Titans experience!
In parting, I must ask for you to consider helping the many families ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. Oddly enough, it was this web site (more particularly Jed Whitchurch) that led me and Jo Ann to make our only trip to New Orleans prior to the devastation that the hurricane dealt to the fine city and entire region. If you are able to, please visit their web site and make a modest contribution to the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund to help these families get back on their feet again. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Jim Tupper
Unofficial Webmaster
A lot has changed in the past month and a half - I'll spare you the gory details. I'm happy to say that The Unofficial Web Site of the Trenton Titans has started it's crawl back from the dead. I can't promise yet what level of service it will return to, it will certainly be diminished without great new photos from Peter Bronsteen, but I should be able to get the basics back up and running within a couple of weeks. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep the site up to date during most of the season, although there may be a couple of outtages when I'm traveling or when my schedule demands my full attention. I hope to see you all at the December 21st game at Sovereign Bank Arena!
