Professional baseball makes its return to Lakewood, New Jersey! The South Atlantic League's Cape Fear Crocs have relocated from Fayetteville, North Carolina to New Jersey as the Lakewood BlueClaws for the start of 2001 baseball season. Their $21 million 6588-seat FirstEnergy Park (originally called GPU Energy Park) is located at the intersection of Cedar Bridge Road and New Hampshire Avenue near the Lakewood/Brick border. FirstEnergy Park hosted the 2002 South Atlantic League All-Star Game!
