NOTES: Jay Leach was acquired by the Trenton Titans from the Long Beach Ice Dogs on 12/10/03 for Marty Johnston and Chris Barr. He started the 2003/2003 season with the Reading Royals after attending training camp with the NHL's Boston Bruins and AHL's Providence Bruins, but declined to play for them and was traded to the Ice Dogs on 11/20/03. Leach was recalled by Providence from 11/28/03 to 12/10/03. While with the Titans, he was recalled again by Providence from 12/14/03 to 12/17/03. Leach was recalled from Trenton by the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers from 2/14/04 to 2/18/04, 2/23/04 to 2/27/04, and again on 3/3/04. He was recalled by the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms from 2/21/04 to 2/22/04 but did not play for them. After attending 2004/2005 training camp with the AHL's Rochester Americans, Leach re-signed with the Titans on 10/12/04. He signed a professional tryout offer with the AHL's Providence Bruins on 11/25/04. Leach started the 2005/2006 season with Providence and was recalled by the NHL's Boston Bruins on 11/5/05, when he made his NHL debut (wearing number 48) against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Leach was returned to Providence on 11/6/05, but recalled by Boston on 11/7/05.
Jay Leach's uncle is former NHLer Steve Leach, who appeared in over 700 NHL games with the Washington Capitals (1985-1991), Boston Bruins (1991-1996), St. Louis Blues (1996-1997), Carolina Hurricanes (1997-1998), Ottawa Senators and Phoenix Coyotes (1998-1999), and Pittsburgh Penguins (1999-2000).
