The inaugural season of the Trenton Shooting Stars came to a shocking conclusion with a 75-70 loss to the visiting Richmond Rhythm. After winning Game One in Richmond, the Stars returned to Sovereign Bank Arena and dropped Games Two and
Three to the underdog Rhythm. Richmond rallied from behind in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Stars 18-10 and holding Trenton to a franchise low game tally of 70 points. The city of Richmond avenged the loss of their Renegades to the underdog
Trenton Titans in the opening round of the ECHL playoffs last month. The Rhythm advance to the IBL's Eastern Conference Finals to face the heavily favored Cincinnati Stuff. In the Western Conference, the regular season champion St. Louis Swarm face
the Las Vegas Silver Bandits who rebounded from a Game One loss to rob the New Mexico Slam for a first round victory.

crushing 84-77 victory over the Richmond Rhythm in Game One of the best-of-three first round playoff series and return home to Trenton for two chances to finish off the Rhythm and advance to the IBL's Eastern Conference Finals against the Cincinnati Stuff. Alvin Young
led the Stars with a 33-point clinic at the Siegel Center on the Virginia Commonwealth University campus (the Richmond Coliseum was unavailable for the playoffs). The Stars play again Saturday with the opportunity for a first round knockout in just over 24 hours.

scoring efforts for the win.
APRIL 25, 2000
A 120-92 loss to the visiting Cincinnati Stuff means that the Trenton Shooting Stars (29-32) will need to win all three remaining games to post a .500 inaugural regular season. Regardless of that
outcome, the Stars are playoff bound and will face the Richmond Rhythm (23-38) in the first round of the playoffs. The best-of-three series starts on May 5th at Seigal Center (Virginia Commonwealth University
campus). Game Two will be at the Sovereign Bank Arena on May 6th (7:00pm) with Game Three, if necessary, at SBA on May 9th (7:00pm). The Stars lead the season series against Richmond 8-3 with one final regualr

In their twelfth consecutive game against an opponent whose nickname begins with "S", the Stars fell to the New Mexico Slam 112-103. The Stars' 17-game S-marathon is caused by the IBL quirk that has 6 of 8 team names

FEBRUARY 24, 2000
Road woes continue for the Trenton Shooting Stars as they lose their fourth of five games on the current road trip. Once again, the Stars had a healthy lead at halftime (59-46) but collapsed in the final half, allowing the San Diego Stingrays to force overtime (91-91). The Stingrays
continued their momentum for a 103-98 victory. Trenton has one road game left at New Mexico on Thursday, before checking in for a home game on Saturday then a harsh 8 of 10 on the road through the end of March.

FEBRUARY 14, 2000
The Shooting Stars found luck in Las Vegas, rallying with a 36-point third quarter to come from behind and rob the Silver Bandits. Trenton's 113-109 victory, led by Ray Tutt's 24-point effort, terminated a 7 game Las Vegas win streak. Before the game, the Stars acquired guard Alvin Young from the

The Shooting Stars' defense collapsed, leading to a 117-119 loss to the visiting New Mexico Slam. Ray Tutt led Trenton with 27 points. Several reports indicated that their were heated arguments in the locker room after the loss which snapped the Stars' four-game win
streak. Former Boston College guard Duane Woodward was signed to replace Mike Jones, who was placed on the injured reserve list again.
FEBRUARY 8, 2000
If only the Trenton Shooting Stars played the Richmond Rhythm every game.... Four in a row will do for now as Trenton completed the sweep with an 88-85 victory over the visiting Rhythm. The Stars were led by Ryan Lorthridge
with 23 points and improve to 16-14 on the season.
FEBRUARY 6, 2000
The Shooting Stars continue to dominate the Rhythm, this time with a 125-100 home victory. Lloyd Daniels led Trenton's attack with 25 points as the Stars climbed above the .500 mark with a 15-14 record. The Stars are 5-2 under co-coaches Greg Grant and

averaging 22 points and 7 rebounds in three games last week. Meanwhile, the Trenton Shooting Stars and San Diego Stingrays continue to make trades. Last week, the Stars sent Mike Lloyd, Shane Drisdom, and a
draft pick to San Diego for Matt Fish. Well, Fish is refusing to swim on the East Coast, Drisdom has been dropped from San Diego's roster without appearing in a game, and the Stingrays have filled Drisdom's spot
with former Shooting Star Kirk King (who was dropped from the Stars roster at the beginning of January to make room for Drisdom). Now, the Stars have sent a 3rd round Supplemental Draft pick to the Stingrays for
former Georgia Tech guard Mike Maddox. It is believed that Maddox will actually report to Trenton.

The Shooting Stars found their Rhythm at Richmond, defeating the home team 94-80. Ray Tutt led the Stars with 28 points. Center Matt Fish, acquired Wednesday, has yet to report to the Stars and is reportedly debating whether to do so (something about preferring the San Diego area over the
New Jersey - go figure). The Stars and Rhythm play again at Richmond Saturday night, then travel to Trenton for two consecutive games next week at the SBA (the Rhythm play three games before traveling to Trenton, but the Stars have off).
JANUARY 26, 2000
The Cincinnati Stuff got their revenge for Sunday's loss, defeating the visiting Shooting Stars 87-106. Prior to the game, Trenton went fishing, trading guard Mike Lloyd, forward Shane Drisdom, and a 3rd round 2000 draft pick for San Diego Stingrays center Matt Fish.
JANUARY 24, 2000
Shooting Stars guard Ryan Lorthridge has been named IBL Player of the Week. In four games last week, Lorthridge averaged 19.7 points, 10 assists, and 4.5 rebounds. Ryan's career has included stints with the NBA's Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat.

Trenton set the team record at 37).
JANUARY 22, 2000
Thursday's euphoria wore off quickly as Trenton dug a deep hole against the Baltimore BayRunners, falling behind 14-30 after the first quarter. The Shooting Stars cut the deficit to 9 points after a strong second quarter, but couldn't keep up the pace
for the second half and lost 76-99 to the BayRunners. Poor shooting and many turnovers led to the loss in front of a home crowd (announced attendance was 2,142) that was considerably larger than it has been for most Stars games at the SBA.
JANUARY 20, 2000
The Trenton Shooting Stars responded to their new coaches with a 113-104 home victory over the New Mexico Slam. Lloyd Daniels led the revitalized Stars with 36 points.

Mackey will serve as a "player personnel consultant". A return to the Head Coach position by Mackey in the future has not been ruled out.
JANUARY 17, 2000
Despite an exceptional evening from Ryan Lorthridge, the Trenton Shooting Stars dropped to the St. Louis Swarm 95-106. Lorthridge registered 33 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds in a valiant effort to lead the Stars.
JANUARY 14, 2000
The winning streak was halted at two for the Trenton Shooting Stars as they fell victim to the St. Louis Swarm 81-100. Ryan Lorthridge led Trenton with 19 points, but the Stars' effort fell way too short for the victory.

JANUARY 7, 2000
The Shooting Stars extended their losing streak to six games with an ugly 85-127 loss to the Baltimore BayRunners. The Stars faced LaMarr Greer, who was traded to Baltimore for Lloyd
Daniels earlier in the week. Daniels wasn't overly impressive in his Trenton debut, but Greer played a significant role in Baltimore's victory.
JANUARY 4, 2000
A franchise record 39 point performance from Ray Tutt was not enough for the Trenton Shooting Stars to avoid extending their skid to five games with a 112-115 overtime loss to
the Las Vegas Silver Bandits. Prior to the game, Trenton made another roster move, dropping forward Kirk King in favor of Shane Drisdom. Drisdom and Lloyd Daniels made their Stars debuts in the
heartbreaking loss.
JANUARY 4, 2000
As expected, the Trenton Shooting Stars made a trade for Baltimore BayRunners journeyman Lloyd Daniels. Not as expected was that LaMarr Greer was the player sent to Baltimore for Daniels. Greer appeared in all
sixteen Stars games before the trade, averaging 11.9 points per game. Daniels is an NBA veteran who had been asking for a trade to Trenton to be closer to his family.
JANUARY 2, 2000
Hard times continued for the Shooting Stars as they dropped a home game to the Las Vegas Silver Bandits 102-110. The loss was Trenton's fourth in a row.
JANUARY 1, 2000

December. The third time was the charm for Richmond, defeating the Stars 98-90 at Sovereign Bank Arena. Trenton suffered a 'Shaq Attack', shooting 14 for 28 from the
line. The Stars will travel to Richmond to face the Rhythm for the third consecutive game on Thursday.

signed to fill the roster spot created after Johnny Tyson was released last week.

When it comes to basketball, Cincinnati has the 'Right' Stuff, improving to 8-1 on the season with a 93-88 victory over the Trenton Shooting Stars. Tyrone Grant led
the Shooting Stars with 22 points, but they came up short against the IBL's best team.
DECEMBER 17, 1999
The Shooting Stars are shining bright with a 82-72 road victory against the Baltimore BayRunners. The victory increases the Stars' overall win streak to three games, road win streak to two games, and season
record against Baltimore to 4-0. LaMarr Greer led Trenton with 15 points.

Ryan Lorthridge led the Shooting Stars with 25 points en route to a 98-92 road victory against the Richmond Rhythm.

scored 20 points, with 8 assists and 6 rebounds, as the Stars dominated the Las Vegas Silver Bandits 113-99. Mike Jones was placed on the injured reserve list prior to Grant's signing. Attendance continues to dwindle for
the Stars at SBA with an announced crowd of only 1,875 attending this game.
DECEMBER 11, 1999
An official scoring blunder at the end of the first quarter can be blamed for one of the 105 points that the New Mexico Slam netted against the Trenton Shooting Stars, but it doesn't erase the other 104 points in the
102-105 loss. Ryan Lorthridge led the Stars with 23 points in the effort. While coach Kevin Mackey filed an official protest, the outcome of the game won't change.

Bull (James) Martin and signed center Johnny Tyson from the University of Central Oklahoma.
DECEMBER 3, 1999
The win streak ends at 3 for the Trenton Shooting Stars as they lose 109-117 to the St. Louis Swarm. Danny Johnson put on a basketball clinic for the
visiting Stars with 39 points (16 for 21 from the field), 6 steals, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1 block. Trenton lost despite having six players post double-digit
scoring, led by Ryan Lorthridge with 27 points.

his second consecutive double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Lorthridge netted 17 points and Bernard Blunt scored 15 off the bench. The reported attendance at SBA was 3650, contributing to
a league lowest average despite the success of the Shooting Stars. Master P clearly failed to pack the house as the Stars hoped he would, and was beaten badly on the court by Edwards and the Stars.
NOVEMBER 27, 1999
The Trenton Shooting Stars followed the example set by the Trenton Titans last month, defeating the Baltimore BayRunners 111-108 to win their home opener at the
Sovereign Bank Arena. The Stars were led by Dennis Edwards with 26 points, while Garth Joseph contributed 18 points and 12 rebounds. The announced attendance was less than hoped for

out the article in Titanic.
